Carl Hopkins leads creative search for the London 2012 Olympic mascot for Yorkshire

As one of the region’s best known marketers, Carl Hopkins, has been asked to help choose a Yorkshire mascot for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Carl was approached by Welcome to Yorkshire, the official tourism agency for the region. Their 2012 team Yorkshire Gold, is working with the London organising committee of the Olympic Games on a competition to create a customised Yorkshire version of Wenlock and Mandeville, the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots.

Carl helps pick Rotherham as most enterprising place in Britain

Earlier this year Carl was invited, for the second time, to sit on a panel of top judges to find the most enterprising place in Yorkshire and the Humber as part of this year’s Enterprising Britain Competition.
Carl and the team of judges voted for Rotherham which was consequently put through to the finals. Today, Rotherham has been named the most enterprising place in the UK after winning the competition.
