Hull Children’s University

Carl travelled to Hull to share his journey with 12-14 year old pupils. The event was facilitated through Hull Children’s University, a programme that provides learning experiences for young people, supporting schools in their delivery of the national curriculum and the government’s aims outlined in ‘Every Child Matters’.

National Association of Hospice Fundraisers’ Annual Conference

Carl was invited to be the keynote speaker at the National Association of Hospice Fundraisers’ Annual Conference. The conference is the largest of its kind for Hospice Fundraisers attracting between 120-130 delegates from over 50 hospices each year. The Association is run by an Executive Committee, who undertake their duties on a voluntary basis whilst also undertaking their “day jobs” as Fundraising Managers/Directors of hospices throughout the UK.

The special guest speaker for the evening was Carl Hopkins, best known for his appearance on Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire.

Natwest ‘Real Help for your business’ event

Carl received a call from Natwest at 6pm the night before this event asking him to step in as motivational speaker. He was delighted to accept the offer in place of the original speaker who was unable to attend due to severe fog at Jersey airport!
The event, which was hosted by NatWest for 170 of their SME business customers, aimed to inspire and educate on topics including social media, planning for success and preparing for the upturn.

Keynote Speech, Sharing the Success Celebration

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Carl was invited to deliver the keynote speech at a celebratory event for Sharing the Success, the Leeds Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI). The purpose of the event was to bring together businesses that have been established with help from the Sharing the Success programme; since it began in April 2007 around 300 new businesses have started in some of the city’s most disadvantaged areas.
