Following on from the success of last year’s Leeds Digital Week, which attracted more than 500 creative and digital professionals to a week of events, seminars and networking, Digital Week 09 is growing up and spreading out across the Yorkshire region.
This year’s event will be kicked off tonight (9 November) with a Knowledge Auction in Leeds at Revolution in the Electric Press with none other than The Drum’s Uncle Carl as auctioneer.
For the uninitiated, a Knowledge Auction is networking with a twist. Rather than speed networking, where you only have a minute to sell yourself to potential clients, this format allows agencies get at least an hour of uninterrupted self-promotion, and clients get the same amount of tailored, no pressure advice. Some of the region’s leading agencies are therefore auctioning their services in return for chocolate money, graciously supplied by the Digital Week team.
Clients will be invited to come along to bid for the services they require, getting a free, impartial guide to the best solutions for their digital needs with no pressure to buy at the end.
In his typical straight-talking Uncle Carl style, Carl Hopkins will be there to stir things up a bit. The event runs from 6-8pm and is free to attend.
